Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year!!!  I'm so glad 2011 is over.  It was a year to remember, but also a year I would love to forget parts of.

I have to remind myself, most people wish to start over or find something refreshing in their lives with the new year upon them.  For myself, I think I've jumped on that wagon.
Needless to say, there are lots of things this ole' gal wishes she could do over.  However, I find that lessons learned don't have to be repeated, and do overs... there not always what they would seem.
Here's to a productive New Year, full of happiness, well wishes and blossoming adventures!

This year, I will be focusing on completing Blood and Dreams 2- Blackheart, before I continue writing on the 4 other manuscripts I have partially completed.  I'm finding my organizational skills still in order, but my focus has jumped to too many projects at one time.
I think it's time for me to slow down a bit, so that I can accomplish what I originally set out to do.  :)

Possibly this year (2012) I will gain some more PR, and increase sales.

I would like to send out a special thanks to Amazon.com, for making the last two years very memorable in allowing my books to be available to the public.  I look forward to sending you several more in the near future!!!

Hello everyone

The holidays are fast approaching.  I cannot believe Thanksgiving is almost here!!  I'm ready for the turkey and all the fixins!  Then, Christmas is right around the corner!  I can't believe it.

On to other things...
I'm still in the process of writing, The Black Woods.  The writers block has lifted, well sort of.  I continue to have crazy and vivid dreams that would be very useful to the plot.  Sadly, I am remembering only pieces of them before I fall back to sleep and zero the next morning,
I guess the notebook beside my bed kind of thing isn't going to work with that aspect.
Anyway... I look forward to getting more writing done on my down time... that is, AFTER the turkey coma has subsided.  :)
Happy Holidays everyone!!

Fall is upon us!  I'm so exicited.  This is my favorite time of the year.  The leaves have already begun to change color, and the air begins to be cooler.  I just love it!

Today, I will be doing some editing on a few chapters of my new novel:  The Black Woods.  I'm excited to say, this one seems to be descriptively darker in it's surroundings than my other books.

I'm super happy to be writing this one.  However, I am recovering from a small case of "Writers Block."
Hopefully, my creative mind will open up a little more as I delve back into the new world I have created.

Here's to hoping that all of you are enjoying your day!

New novel released

My second novel:  She Woke The Dead, is now on sale at Amazon.com.  It will soon be on sale also at:  Barnes and Noble (online.)  This is my second novel.  My first novel titled:  Blood and Dreams ~ A Vampire's Desire was released in the third quarter of 2010.

She Woke The Dead short synopsis:
Suzy Sommersby, woke the dead on the first night she realized, she had powers. Although for her, she never did understand how it happened. Suzy naively thought the spells she had learned, were no more than innocent incantations. Her childlike nature always seemed to guide her in the wrong direction. This time, she was too inexperienced to see it coming.

She soon finds that the spell book her Grandmother left her wasn't just a story. The spells actually work. And, she is not the only one with a book like this. Soon, Suzy and a friend are on a mission to find the master book, to increase their powers.  But, what they didn't see coming, was that one of them would be out of the picture for the hunt, at least temporarily.

I hope you all will check out the book.  I had a blast writing it!

Bullying

I have to say this, because it's on my heart to do so.  I was bullied as a child.
I have never forgotten how it made me feel.  My children have been bullied in school and outside of it.
It makes me sick!

There is only so much a school system can do.  There is only so much a parent can do to defend their child as well.  This needs to change!  And, It NEEDS TO STOP!

I've seen the studies and statistics.  So many reasons are listed, as to why this happens.

Here are a few:

Kids bully because their home life isn't all that great....
Kids bully to make themselves feel better...
Kids bully because they want to look cool in front of their peers.

Kids bully because they can.
Then why do adults still do it?

It makes you wonder if people's brains were warped and never developed the concepts of giving a crap about someone other than themselves.  It's sad, really.

The thing is... not only does it hurt the child that is being bullied, but it pisses the parent of that, "said child", off- pretty bad.  And, the parent feels helpless to help their child.  That should never have to be the case.

I will fight against bullying as long as I live... I have ZERO tolerance for it myself.

It is my opinion that strong rules should be layed out to stop the, ABUSE!
And, that is exactly what it is, ABUSE!
Bullying, in any form, is abuse.  Whether the person receiving it is a child, and adult, or elderly individual.

Some parents would say, "I'm not helpless, I'll just take it into my own hands."  That's when the added trouble can come along.

I say, find a way to talk to your schools, and have CLEAR and concise punishments for bullying... not just handbooks that say ZERO TOLERANCE, and a case by case scenerio for punishment.

If they have zero tolerance, but the person that's doing all the bullying is getting away with it, or doesn't believe they will suffer serious consequences, then someone is not doing their job!
Although, I'm certain some may be accused of bullying, by the bully, to protect themselves... so this could pose an issue too!

I for one, will not stand up for it.  The lasting effects of maltreatement can go on for years after it has stopped, even into their adult-hood.  And, if you think some parents don't bully their children... you are wrong!

I am asking every parent to do something today.
Talk to your children!
Believe them when they say someone is saying, or doing something to them that makes them uncomfortable... and do SOMETHING to stop it, before it goes farther.

Talk to your schools!  Don't let your kids wander off down the street without you.  Keep tabs on them and their friends.  Join their social circles...quietly if you may... on facebook, myspace, etc.

KNOW WHAT'S HAPPENING with YOUR CHILD at all times!

It's time we all come together and help our children. They are, after all, the one's who will decide whether or not to put us in a nursing home when we get old!

Don't you think your children deserve to not be harrassed and bullied?  I certainly do!
